As I entered the museum, I was immediately struck by the space and light. The large windows and uncluttered structure create a welcoming, soothing atmosphere. Getting around the museum isn’t complicated, but a few extra signs wouldn’t go amiss.
The museum’s collection is impressive. It houses a multitude of objects from the Roman era, ranging from sculptures to mosaics and ceramics. I was particularly struck by the magnificent Fishing Lovers mosaic, an extremely well-preserved work that captured my attention.
I also appreciated the interactive technologies that give us a better understanding of Roman history and culture. The 3D models, for example, gave me a precise vision of what Nîmes was like in Roman times.
