Las Vegas Boulevard, more commonly known as the Strip, is the main street of Las Vegas. This is where everything happens (shows, casinos, bars and restaurants…). In three trips to Las Vegas, I’ve come to realize that booking a hotel on this street is a must for a good stay.
Among the dozens of hotels on the Strip, several stand out. Here’s my ranking of the 12 best hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Disclaimer: To establish this ranking, I based myself on my experiences in Las Vegas (3 trips for a total of around 60 days there and 6 hotels visited), customer reviews and consultation of hotel and Booking websites.
Ranking of the best hotels in Las Vegas Boulevard
1. Bellagio Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$$
- Location on the Strip: 5/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 6/5!
- Standard room quality: 4/5
- Average customer rating: 8.6/10
The Bellagio fountains are the most mythical attraction in Las Vegas. If you’re staying at this hotel, you must choose a room with a view of the fountains. Admittedly, this view adds to the price of the room, but the moment is one of rare romance.
The exterior of the hotel is magnificent, with a unique Italian style. The casino room isn’t the biggest, but it’s nice and quiet. The hotel is also home to a number of restaurants. Its location is the best there is.
My only downside would be the high price for a standard room of around twenty square meters.
2. The Venetian Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$$
- Location on the Strip: 4/5
- Hotel exterior: 5/5
- Standard room quality: 5/5
- Average customer rating: 8.7/10
My heart sways between the Bellagio and the Venetian. The artificial canals and gondoliers reminiscent of Venice make this hotel a real attraction. The basic room is very large (over 60 square meters!), with a large bathtub, several televisions, a lounge area…
The hotel is very close to the center of the Strip, and many activities are possible inside (for example, a visit to Madame Tussauds) or in the surrounding area. The price is high, the games room less pleasant than others, but it’s still an extraordinary hotel.
Note that The Venetian and The Palazzo are glued together, belong to the same group and are, overall, identical.
3. Wynn
- Standard room rate: $$$$
- Location on the Strip: 3.5/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 4/5
- Standard room quality: 5/5
- Average customer rating: 8.9/10
Wynn Las Vegas is consistently the most expensive hotel on this list. It attracts a wealthy clientele, from casino gamblers to golfers who come to enjoy the magnificent course just behind it.
A little too far north of the Strip for my taste, it’s still relatively well located. The basic room is excellent, even if you have to expect to shell out several $100 bills per night.
The Wynn building is beautiful, but not exceptional. The aesthetic highlight is the gardens. A must see during your stay in Las Vegas.
4. ARIA Resort & Casino
- Standard room rate: $$
- Location on the Strip: 3.5/5
- Hotel exterior: 3.5/5
- Standard room quality: 4/5
- Average customer rating: 8.3/10
Aria is a hotel I’m less familiar with than the others, even though I’ve been to its game room several times. The hotel has a modern feel. It’s very pretty, but I prefer hotels with a very distinct universe.
Accessible from the Strip, the hotel is set back a little, offering greater peace and quiet. A large shopping mall is adjacent. However, the hotel lacks interesting shows like Cirque du Soleil and requires a bit of walking to find evening activities.
5. Caesars Palace
- Standard room rate: $$$
- Location on the Strip: 5/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 5/5
- Standard room quality: 2.5/5
- Average customer rating: 7.4/10
For a long time, Caesars Palace was one of the best hotels in Las Vegas. Its style, worthy of the Roman Empire, is successful. The hotel lobby is majestic, and its large shopping arcade attracts many tourists.
Its location is perfect and the casino has the best spot for sports bettors.
But the hotel’s interior has aged, and without a renovation of the rooms, the value for money seems disappointing for a standard room. Architecturally, there are few hotels that can compete. When it comes to room comfort, many establishments do better.
6. Paris Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$
- Location on the Strip: 5/5
- Hotel exterior: 4.5/5
- Standard room quality: 3/5
- Average customer rating: 7.8/10
This is the most Parisian hotel in Las Vegas. Ideally located, it’s easy to spot from afar thanks to its reproduction of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel may not have the most beautiful entrance, but the interior is magnificent. You feel as if you’re walking through the old cobblestone streets of the French capital.
Prices have gone up in recent years, and the rooms are fairly new. But I find them very standard and lacking in the comforts of the best hotels in Las Vegas Boulevard.
7. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$$
- Location on the Strip: 4.5/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 2/5
- Standard room quality: 4.5
- Average customer rating: 9/10
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas consists of two large, modern towers next to the Bellagio. Some rooms boast views of the fountains.
I’m not in awe of the hotel’s architecture, which is reminiscent of city-center buildings.
The remarkable location on the Strip is complemented by large, comfortable rooms. Many guests who have stayed at the hotel love them. Studios are also available.
8. New York New York Hotel
- Standard room rate: $$
- Location on the Strip: 3/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 4/5
- Standard room quality: 3/5
- Average customer rating: 7.9/10
As its name suggests, this hotel reproduces the architecture of New York. Between the Statue of Liberty and the buildings, you feel like you’re in Manhattan. On the roof of the hotel, you’ll find The Big Apple Coaster.
Its location is ideal for catching a Las Vegas field hockey game. Otherwise, it’s slightly off the center of the Strip.
The quality of these rooms is average, and if you’re too close to the roller coaster, you’re likely to hear it most of the night.
9. Four Seasons Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$$$
- Location on the Strip: 2/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 4/5
- Standard room quality: 5/5
- Average customer rating: 8.9/10
Four Seasons Las Vegas is a very expensive 5-star hotel. This is due to the exceptional quality of its rooms. The hotel’s location is unusual in that it is located within another hotel, the Mandalay Bay. The two establishments are nevertheless managed separately.
I regret that it’s too far south. To get to the Bellagio, you have to walk a long way or take a car.
10. Flamingo Las Vegas
- Standard room rate: $$
- Location on the Strip: 5/5
- Hotel exterior: 3/5
- Standard room quality: 3/5
- Average customer rating: 7.2/10
Flamingo Las Vegas is one of the city’s oldest hotels. Its location is perfect, next to the Bellagio and Caesars Palace.
For a long time, it was the “good deal.” The renovation of the rooms a few years ago changed all that. They are now of a decent standard, but they have been accompanied by an upward pricing policy. There are better, cheaper rooms in Las Vegas.
The hotel’s facade is, let’s face it, a bit ugly. Its exterior is of a different standard. Between the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat and the swimming pools, it’s a complete change of scenery.
11. Mandalay Bay
- Standard room rate: $$$
- Location on the Strip: 2/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 4/5
- Standard room quality: 3.5/5
- Average customer rating: 8.1/10
As already mentioned, the Mandalay Bay is too far south of the Strip. Its location is ideal only if you’re going to see a Raiders NFL game.
The exterior of the hotel is not the most beautiful. However, its pools are exceptional.
The quality of the rooms is good. However, I find the price too high for the quality of the room and the hotel’s location on Las Vegas Boulevard.
12. Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Las Vegas Strip
- Standard room rate: $
- Location on the Strip: 1/5
- Exterior appearance of the hotel: 2/5
- Standard room quality: 5/5
- Average customer rating: 8.8/10
I wanted to include a Hilton GVC hotel in my ranking, as this chain has become my first choice when I go to Las Vegas. This one is directly on the Strip (to the north), and there are other Hilton GVCs on parallel streets.
Hilton rents out rooms, studios and small apartments. These are ideal for longer stays. For the price, the comfort of the rooms is remarkable. They are large and fully equipped.
The little snag is visual. Hilton GVC hotels aren’t very pretty inside or out, and they don’t have a casino. This one’s pool is very small.
What’s more, its location is too far north of the Strip. To get to the middle, you have to take a cab or the bus, while in the evening, the area is a favorite spot for many homeless people.
5 hotels to avoid on the Strip
There are many good hotels in Las Vegas. But, among the supplies, some are very disappointing and have a negative quality/price ratio. Here are 5 hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard that I wouldn’t recommend:
- Circus Circus: aging, too far north of the Strip (rated 6.4/10 by customers)
- The LINQ Hotel: noisy, many homeless people at the foot of the hotel (rated 7/10 by guests)
- Excalibur: for a very personal opinion, I think it’s ugly! (rated 7.6/10 by customers)
- Tahiti Village Resort: rated well, but a long way from the Strip (rated 8.4/10 by customers).
- MGM Grand Hotel & Casino: part of MGM too old, I prefer the “Signature at MGM Grand” suites (rated 7.6/10 by guests).
How do you choose a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip?
To sum up, I recommend that you choose your hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard by comparing :
- Location
- Hotel style
- Room comfort and, if you’re interested, the availability of suites
- Prices and extra services
- Swimming pools
- Entertainment in and around the hotel
- The view from the room
- The hotel’s level of tranquility
- Restaurants, casino and poker room
- The loyalty program.
Why choose a hotel directly on the Strip?
I know a lot of people who have been to Las Vegas, booked a cheap hotel 4 km from the Strip and regretted it. If you’re only in town for a few days, you’ll spend most of your time on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Choosing a hotel on this street saves you time and money on cab and parking fares.
Plus, it’s probably the best idea ever for a living and breathing Las Vegas. The Strip is huge and a bit crazy. Every ten meters, you change hotels and worlds. I love strolling it at night, from the Bellagio’s fountains to the Mirage’s Volcano, then back up to the Venetian’s gondolas. I even prefer this atmosphere inside casinos.
Finally, unlike other parallel streets, the police presence is considerable. Crime and the number of drug addicts have risen sharply in recent years, and while it’s no longer possible to be in Las Vegas without seeing and fearing them, the center of the Strip (watch out for the north, towards The Strat Hotel, in the evening) has the merit of remaining a well-protected area.
Our hotel experiences in Las Vegas!
I’ve experienced 6 hotels in Las Vegas, 5 of them on the Strip. The first was the Flamingo before its renovation. My comments would therefore be dated, as the rooms and prices are not at all the same.
On the other hand, I’ve written full articles about my time at the Bellagio, the Venetian, the Paris Las Vegas and the Hilton GVC. Between my photos and descriptions, you should get a better idea of these establishments!
As a professional blogger, I take advantage of my flexible schedule to travel a lot. I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list!
